Shannon has been involved in dogs for the past 35 years.
She started in Junior Handling when she was 10 years old with her first
breed, the Irish Setter. She has also owned Dobermans, Giant Schnauzers,
Borzoi and German Shepherds.
Shannon and her husband Fred live on 40 acres in Calgary, Alberta. They are breeders of Eirene' Golden Retrievers and Chilcotin Standard Smooth
Dachshunds.
Shannon is a Professional Dog Handler and has the honor of handling the ONLY Golden Retriever to go Top Sporting Dog and Number 3 All Breeds (Can Am Ch Eirene's Soul Provider). In 2007 she won Top Dog All Breeds on a Sealyham Terrier.
She is the Alberta , Nunavut, NWT Junior Handling CKC Representative for the past 17 years. Pedigree Professional Handler of the Year and Wenrick Best Sportsman award recipient. For the past twenty two years Shannon has wrote the "Alberta Activities" column for the national dog magazine "Canine Review".
