Carla Tyacke, the self taught artist was born
and raised in rural Saskatchewan. With a passion in portraying the things
that have filled her life, she demonstrates a realistic style of art. With
the people, the animals, and the landscapes that have molded her past she
takes joy in depicting them. Carla’s love for the country life is apparent
through her art. Her pieces are completed as realistic pencil drawings, and
acrylic paintings. While illustrating the subjects that Carla loves she also
does commissioned work, specializing in portraits of people and pets but is
open to the client’s desires. She also does custom framing and has several
lithograph print series’ that are marketed from her studio at home in
Melfort, Saskatchewan. Her art is not only taken a residence in North
America but over seas as well. Photographs are used in representing the
subject. By working from photographs this allows Carla to achieve a full
extent of realism. This self taught artist has been able to achieve an
infinite realism in her domestic and wild animal portraits. However, it is
her genuine Love of Life and nature, and her “small town Saskatchewan”
warmth, that gives each of her portraits their uniqueness and exceptionally.
